Overview

We are much more than a botanic park of trees.

Our collections comprise around 5,300 living trees comprising about 1,500 individual species. The provenance of each of them has been carefully recorded in an extensive database and full list of these species can be accessed on our plants page.

Our plantings include 17 ex situ endangered species. The importance of such cannot be over-stated as the report "State of the World’s Trees" published September 2021 by BGCI (Botanic Gardens Conservation International) and showing 30% of trees on the planet are threatened, demonstrates.

The plantings are arranged geographically and thematically and the following links provide access to more detailed information about these.
