Set on an undulating landscape where Melrose Creek and the Don River meet, the Arboretum offers a truly unique setting for weddings. A picturesque lake with islands, bridges and limestone outcrops forms a central feature, surrounded by sweeping collections of trees and shrubs from Tasmania and around the world. The tranquil countryside, remnant lowland vegetation, and abundant wildlife—including swans and even the occasional platypus—create a peaceful, romantic backdrop. With its blend of natural beauty and carefully curated plantings, the Arboretum is both a living tree collection and a place of celebration, offering couples and their guests a setting that is memorable, timeless and serene.
The choice of sites is extensive, ranging from open spaces to secluded nooks. As the trees are planted in continental groupings it is possible to be married in the "continent" of your choice.
You can add to the ambience by taking advantage of the different appearances brought on by seasonal changes to foliage and flowering.
There are many unique and varied photographic locations including water features, a fern glade, different arbours and bridges.
As a bonus, all couples who hold their wedding ceremony at the Arboretum will receive a 12 month complimentary membership of Tasmanian Arboretum Inc.
And couples who hold their wedding ceremony at the Arboretum may like to consider sponsoring a tree.
